so naturally I listen to Bare Witness. I remember waking up on Sam’s couch where all the spiders lived in his old apartment. Eddie on the other couch playing video games. It was summer. I was young, lost and impressionable. 2009 seems so long ago.

Well, that’s unfortunate. I get compliments from time to time. Thank you! I appreciate you looking at my work.

I liked your question. Have another?
Anonymous asked: is there someone youve always wanted to take a picture of, a stranger perhaps. i get that feeling with this person i always see around
I don’t have the long archival data base of people I wanted to photograph but these moments or situations where I had a strong urge to make an image. Most of the time that includes people, acquaintances or strangers. For example: over the weekend I was in Portland/Eugene, OR. I met a few people who were close friends of a close friend. I really wanted to photograph them but the situation/condition never allowed for it, so I didn’t make the photograph. But that scene, dynamic of the individuals and lighting condition will stay with me and resurface later, or that has been the case in the past.
For the person you always see around, I would do one of two things: approach the situation and make the photograph, throw caution and hesitation out the window. Or second, continue to wait until the moment opens up to you, where everything feels perfect. But in either case, you will have to make that photograph or it will drive you mad.
